Vernonia School District
Vernonia, OR lost three-fourths of their classroom space after a devastating winter flood. Modern worked to rearrange project schedules so that operation could be devoted solely to the disaster relief. Within days, the first buildings were being transported over winding two lane roads into town as highway crews helped move debris. Since the building site was still located in the existing flood plain, Modern worked with FEMA to utilize 4,000 cubic yards of compacted fill to prepare the site. A month later after the tragedy students were able to return to class in the buildings provided by Modern.
