Fife Public Library
The vision for Pierce County Library’s newest outlying facility includes an approachable building of warmth and comfort, quality finishes found in custom homes paired with the grace of strong architectural elements. Red Built open trusses and beams give this space strength and, coupled with self dimming light fixtures and extensive use of highly insulated vinyl windows (including skylights), create an ideal environment to use day-lighting to full advantage. High efficiency gas HVAC units with 100% economizers and insulated spiral ducting to create comfort for the readers inside. The local News Tribune described the building at it’s opening as “…a single open room, wrapped in glass and bathed in light”.
