McCarthy-Andersen Construction

Portland, OR

Located underneath the west side of Portland’s Marquam Bridge, this 9,000 square foot co-location building brings engineering and ingenuity together. Using the latest in modular techniques, Modern worked alongside engineers and architects to strategically design the interior of the space to provide a functional workplace. Copious amenities include oversized showers, private restrooms, specialized office rooms, multi-purpose conference rooms, and an open floor plan. The segmented office rooms around the perimeter of the building allow for each department head to have a private office and meeting space, while the open floor office functions as a practical way of communicating and collaborating with the remainder of the staff.

A significant decrease in total construction time added larger savings by combining off-site building fabrication and on-site foundation work/assembly. Also, the client was able to take advantage of greater savings by utilizing Modern’s factory direct construction and in-house transportation, LEED AP Design, structural and civil engineers, and site crew.
