Modern collaborated with the client’s vision and conceptual plans by working to match existing stick built buildings on the campus of this retirement community. A 40 module, three story building, set into a hillside provided levels 1 and 2 building entrances. The client also requested an open kitchen with a large inviting island and dining area. This was centrally located on level 2, where staff cooked with and for residents. This helped to create or more “home-like” feel over a traditional cafeteria or institutional kitchen.
Being able to compress the building schedule by utilizing concurrent onsite work and combined with off-site modular fabrication, the facility was able to open sooner than conventional on-site only construction.
