Gervais Locker Room Extension

Gervais, OR

Gervais School District had no locker room or restrooms for their new pre-engineered steel gym building for nearly a year. In addition to the girls and boys locker rooms, Modern added a single user restroom and physical education office with storage all accessible from within the existing gym. The 1,904 sq. ft. addition complements the structure by using matching metal exterior finishes. The addition was designed and tied into the existing building to creating a barrier free transition between spaces.

This district relied on Modern to provide the locker room as full turnkey project which required extensive infrastructure upgrades. Looping fire water lines around the whole campus and adding fire hydrants were included for future school growth. The existing gym was on a stand alone fire alarm system which we integrated into the entire school property as well as extending the fire sprinklers for the addition. Negotiation with local enforcement jurisdictions during the planning and civil engineering phases helped with permitting and ultimately with receiving final occupancy promptly.
