These three tripe wide modulars were installed in a “U“ configuration allowing for a courtyard in the center.
Classroom and play areas are now secure, with all visitors having to pass through the coded entry and administrative space before having access to classrooms or the play area located in the rear of the facility.
Setting the buildings to grade, makes the exterior more appealing aesthetically and gives a more permanent feel to the space. Also, cumbersome handicap ramps, landings and stairs were eliminated with concrete walkways poured right up to the entries for easy access into the buildings.
The interiors were furnished with basic classroom finishes to keep the overall project costs down and the roof lines were connected at site to give these 3 separate buildings the feel of being one.
Interconnecting the roofs also created space above the ceiling for routing sprinkler piping, fire & security alarm systems and the phone/data systems without having to go underground from building to building at higher costs.
Utilizing modular construction saved the school not only time by allowing for a quick move in, but allowed the school the ability to add classrooms due to the inherent savings associated with modular construction.
